Software Engineering Processes for Blockchain Development

We are researchers at Virginia Tech exploring ways to improve the behavior, productivity, and decision-making of software engineers. This study seeks to learn about software engineering (SE) in the blockchain domain. Blockchain is a rapidly changing field of technology, however little is known about the SE tools and processes used by developers of these applications to keep up with the advancements in industry. We plan to collect data from software professionals on their experiences working with blockchain technology to investigate processes and challenges they may face when developing blockchain applications in industry to motivate the design of future tools and techniques to support blockchain developers.
